Connecting and disconnecting
One Rogue Productions account can have a password, several Microsoft accounts, or both. You manage them in Sign-in methods.
Connecting a Microsoft account to an existing account
There are two ways:
- From Sign-in methods — confirm it’s you (password or an already-connected Microsoft account), then choose Connect a Microsoft account.
- By just trying it — choose Continue with Microsoft on the sign-in page. If your Microsoft email matches a Rogue Productions account, we ask you to sign in to that account once with its password (and two-step code). As soon as you do, the two are connected.
“Is this your email?”
If someone once started a Rogue Productions account with your address but never confirmed it, we offer to email you a link. Following it proves the mailbox is yours: the account becomes yours, is connected to your Microsoft account, and any password someone else set on it is removed.
Why we ask you to confirm it’s you first
Anything that changes how your account can be entered — connecting, disconnecting, adding or removing a password — needs a fresh confirmation within the last five minutes. That stops someone who finds your computer unlocked from quietly adding their own way in.
Disconnecting
- Disconnecting a Microsoft account ends the Rogue Productions sessions that signed in with it. Nothing in your Microsoft account changes.
- You can’t disconnect your last way in. Add a password or another Microsoft account first.
- If your organization manages your account, disconnecting your work account makes it a personal account and ends your organization access — you’ll be asked to confirm that.
Adding or removing a password
- Add a password to a Microsoft-only account from Sign-in methods after confirming with Microsoft. It’s a good backup if you might lose the Microsoft account.
- Remove your password if you only want to sign in with Microsoft. Sessions that signed in with the password end.
- Some organizations don’t allow a separate password on accounts they manage.
Refresh
Refresh next to a Microsoft account signs in to Microsoft quietly and updates your name, email hint and organization roles immediately, instead of waiting for the hourly check.
